
DreamSmart Announced Launch Timeline for Meizu 22 and Note 16 Series at 2025 Spring Media Event

DreamSmart held the 2025 Spring Media Event in Chengdu, China, on March 27. At the event, COO Liao Qinghong outlined DreamSmart's development planning and strategic roadmap for product innovation, integrated AI ecosystem, global expansion and other issues. Liao Qinghong previewed in his speech that the flagship Meizu 22 series will debut this summer, while the "national premium selection" Meizu Note 16 series will make a strong return in April, with online and offline reservations now officially available.
This year marks Meizu's 22nd brand anniversary and 16th year of dedication to the smartphone industry. Liao Qinghong interpreted the brand spirit and new product planning based on the numbers "22" and "16". Meizu 22 represents an innovation gene of "pioneering spirit", while Meizu Note 16 embodies the company’s enduring mission to "serve the public."
"Many Meizu enthusiasts have been eagerly awaiting the Meizu 22. To us, the Meizu 22 is not just a flagship smartphone series. It symbolizes an epoch-making vision for the future of AI-driven devices and reflects Meizu’s bold ambition to push boundaries," Liao stated. He revealed that Meizu is exploring next-level interactions and solutions to refine products with meticulous attention to detail. The Meizu 22 series will be officially launched this summer. "We aim to create exceptional smartphones for users, most of whom create extraordinary moments of life in their ordinary lives, and deliver extraordinary experiences at accessible prices. This is another facet of the Meizu spirit," he added.
Looking back at Meizu’s 16-year journey in the smartphone industry, the legendary "Battle God" Note series, achieved sales of more than 30 million smartphones for a single series. "This series carries the recognition and love of 30 million consumers, as well as Meizu’s relentless drive for excellence," Liao Qinghong announced the return of the best-selling Note series in April, "the legendary 'Battle God' will return with the all-new 'national premium selection' Note 16 series!"
The newest Note 16 series has undergone nearly 1 million quality tests, nearly 100 experimental validations, and more than 480 hours of rigorous environmental assessments, ensuring exceptional quality and affordability to bring AI-powered smartphone experiences to a broader range of consumers. Online and offline reservations for the Meizu Note 16 series are now available across all channels.
At the event, Liao Qinghong also detailed DreamSmart’s progress in building an integrated AI ecosystem centered on Flyme AIOS, with the carriers including AI smartphones, smart glasses, and smart cockpits.
Regarding Flyme AIOS, DreamSmart has deeply integrated AI capabilities across the operating system’s architecture, redefining the nervous system of the entire digital space. The platform adopts an open architecture and has integrated advanced large models such as Tongyi Qianwen, Doubao, ERNIE Bot, and DeepSeek to deliver a system-level, cross-device collaborative, and open-intelligence AI experience.
According to Liao Qinghong, DreamSmart and Alibaba Cloud have deepened comprehensive collaboration. Early this morning, Alibaba unveiled its first end-to-end multimodal large model, Tongyi Qianwen Qwen2.5-Omni-7B. As the first smartphone brand to deeply integrate this model, DreamSmart has significantly enhanced its AI emotional understanding capabilities, enabling smarter and more natural responses and decisions in complex tasks. DreamSmart will deliver more intelligent, agile, and emotionally resonant AI-powered dialogue experiences for users.
Since its launch in September 2024, the DreamSmart StarV series has achieved a quarterly market share exceeding 41.5%, ranking No. 1 nationally in sales. Technologically, DreamSmart was the first in the industry to adopt the most challenging optical waveguide solution, achieving unparalleled product maturity. With two iterations and the validation by 50,000 users, StarV Air2 leads the sector in product capability. In the field of smart cockpits, DreamSmart's Flyme Auto has been adopted by 22 car models across brands including Geely, Lynk & Co., and Galaxy, serving over 600,000 users. It has topped monthly new user growth for five consecutive months, becoming the most widely adopted IVI system with the fastest expansion. DreamSmart launched its global strategy in 2024 to accelerate its expansion into overseas markets, with full-ecosystem products now available in nearly 30 countries across Asia-Pacific, North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America.
"This year, we will accelerate globalization, targeting overseas sales to account for 50% of total sales in the future. It will be a historic journey of breaking records," said Liao Qinghong. Since early this year, DreamSmart has hosted joint launch events with Geely Auto in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Australia, Vietnam and other countries, while participating in global tech expos like CES and MWC. In 2025, DreamSmart plans over 10 overseas product launch events to introduce more new products for the global markets, and build ecosystem experience stores to exhibit smartphones, cars, and AR glasses.
